The striker scored his first goal in the 2-1 win over FC Astana.
Moussa Dembele has shared his delight at breaking his Celtic duck, speaking to the Daily Mail.
The striker is one of the new faces at Celtic Park this summer, having been brought to the club by new manager Brendan Rodgers.
He has taken his time to adjust to his new settings, initially struggling to find his feet as the Scottish champions have negotiated their way through the Champions League’s early rounds.
That changed on Wednesday though as he came off the bench to win and score a late penalty that sealed a 2-1 victory over Astana that saw his side through to the next round of the competition.
It was a big moment for him and he says that he hopes that strike is the first of many more to come.
“For a striker the first goal is the most important one and the hardest to get,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I got it and hopefully I can score more and more. Especially at this massive club and in the Champions League, the goal was something huge.”
It now remains to be seen if Dembele can be a success at Celtic this season and beyond.
He has shown during his time at former club Fulham that he has the quality required and will be keen to replicate that in the Scottish Premiership.
Much will rest on how he can adapt to the new wide role Rodgers seems to want him to play in a new look Celtic attack.
