Celtic striker Moussa Dembele’s mind appears fully focused on the club as deadline day arrives.
The French striker has been linked with a move away from Celtic all month but no clubs have met their asking price.
He appears destined to stay put and started in last night’s 3-1 win over Hearts.
Dembele scored the third goal, a positive contribution and his sixth league goal of an injury interrupted season.
The former Fulham ace sent a message to Celtic fans on Twitter after the win.
It would be a real surprise if Dembele moves on deadline day, with Brendan Rodgers declaring he will be staying put.
The Celtic manager told BBC Sport after the victory: “I don’t anticipate any [bids] to come in at this stage. It is too late in the window to lose one of our key players, so I can’t envisage anyone going out.”
Celtic will likely have had a plan of action to buy replacements if Dembele was sold, but it’s too late for them to get started with it, and there is no benefit in selling the Frenchman at this late stage.
