Lyon striker Moussa Dembele has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the defeat for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and the progress of Celtic in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Ibrox club Rangers lost 1-0 to Rapid Vienna away from home in Austria in the Europa League Group G, and have failed to progress to the knockout stages of the European competition this season.
Celtic also lost on Thursday evening, going down 2-1 to RB Salzburg at Celtic Park in Group B, but Brendan Rodgers’s side have managed to go through from the group stage.
Dembele played for Celtic from the summer of 2016 until the summer of 2018 when he moved to Lyon for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £19.7 million.
French club Lyon have progressed to the last-16 stage of the Champions League after finishing second in Group F behind winners Manchester City.
Dembele has also sent a message to his former Celtic teammate Leigh Griffiths and hopes to see the striker back in action for the Hoops soon.
