Celtic advanced into the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday evening as they saw off Alloa Athletic with a 2-0 win.
The Bhoys were looking to get back to winning ways having lost 7-0 to Barcelona and drawn 2-2 with Ross County on Sunday afternoon, and facing third tier side Alloa Athletic was seen as the ideal way to find a win.

However, Alloa put up a great fight against Brendan Rodgers’ men, with James Forrest only opening the scoring on 83 minutes before Moussa Dembele added a second in the dying stages.
Celtic now join Morton, Rangers and either Aberdeen or St Johnstone in the last four of the competition, and will be hot favourites to run out winners of the competition too.

After the final whistle, striker Dembele took to Twitter in order to send a message to Celtic fans after he found the net yet again.
The Frenchman, 20, scored his eighth goal in his last 11 games with his strike against Alloa, and after something of a slow start, he’s now starting to prove why Rodgers was so keen to sign him from Fulham.
