Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has today left the club for a shock move to Leicester City – and Moussa Dembele has had his say on Twitter.
Leicester sacked Claude Puel on Sunday morning, just hours after a humiliating 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
Rodgers quickly became the early favourite, but the understanding was that Leicester would make a move for the Northern Irishman at the end of the season.
After all, Rodgers was bidding for a third straight Scottish Premiership title with Celtic, and potentially a third straight domestic treble, so few thought he would leave at such a key point in the season.
However, Rodgers has today made an immediate move to the King Power Stadium, penning a deal until the summer of 2022.
Celtic fans are understandably furious that the Northern Irishman has moved on at such a key stage of the campaign, and one ex-Bhoys ace has had his say.
Striker Moussa Dembele, who was signed by Rodgers in 2016, left Celtic in August for a move back to France with Lyon, and has taken a couple of shots at his former manager tonight.
Dembele first called the move ‘interesting’, but then posted memes to underline his surprise and almost amusement at the move, adding ‘I Told You’ – seemingly a reference to a shot taken at Rodgers in August when he stated that ‘A man without his word is nothing, A real man keeps his word’.
