Lyon president thanks striker for forcing late transfer away from Celtic.

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has praised Moussa Dembele for forcing through his late transfer away from Celtic.
Lyon sealed a deal for the striker with just a couple of hours to spare of Friday’s transfer deadline.
Dembele spent two seasons with Celtic and felt the time was right to move on.
Speaking over the weekend after Dembele’s transfer was finalised, Lyon president Aulas has said that the deal would not have been possible without the Celtic striker’s strong desire to be transferred.

Aulas was quoted by Le10Sport: “It’s a real pleasure. I want to thank him because he has talent and showed determination to come here. Without that, he could not have come.
“The club has a financial strength that is recognised throughout Europe. Sometimes you have to use it.
“It’s a 5 year contract. It happened very late. We had to be flexible and smart to finish negotiating and reaching an agreement with Celtic. I am personally very happy.”
Aulas understandably is beaming after pulling off a deal to sign the France under-21 international.
The manner of Dembele’s exit meant he left on a sour note, but from the other perspective, Lyon are clearly thrilled to get their man.
