Taking a closer look at the Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur players’ Premier League performances.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United clash at White Hart Lane on Sunday with both sides seeking the three points for very different reasons.
Tottenham will be looking to extend their undefeated streak to 15 matches and potentially climb into the top four with a victory while Newcastle will know a win could see them move out of the bottom three.
Two players likely to be key in the encounter are Newcastle’s Moussa Sissoko and Tottenham’s Dele Alli, and while the midfielders are at very different stages in their careers they are both playing vital roles for their clubs this season.
| Passing Accuracy | Goals | Goal Assists | Key Passes | On-target Shooting Accuracy | Dispossessed | Ball Recoveries | Tackle Accuracy | Appearances | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moussa Sissoko | 78% | 0 | 5 | 30 | 25% | 25 | 73 | 81% | 14 |
| Dele Alli | 78% | 3 | 1 | 15 | 35% | 25 | 75 | 75% | 13 |
When you consider how Alli and Sissoko are performing specifically in the league there are some very interesting findings, most notably the fact that both players have a 78 per cent passing accuracy, both have been dispossessed 25 times this season and there is a difference of just two in terms of how many times they have recovered the ball to date – the Spurs youngster coming out slightly ahead with 75 compared with the Newcastle star’s 73.
Where Alli really excels is in terms of goals, with the teenager scoring three times while Sissoko is yet to find the net this season. But the Newcastle player has provided four more assists than the young England international and he has played double the amount of key passes.
And so we move towards Sunday’s fixture, which is sure to be an entertaining affair, and after Newcastle’s 2-0 victory against Liverpool last time out they have the talent to cause Mauricio Pochettino’s side plenty of problems.
