Moussa Dembele sends message to Celtic on Twitter, club respond

Lyon striker Moussa Dembele has taken to Twitter to send a message to his former club Celtic after playing and scoring against the Hoops.

Dembele scored for Lyon in the French club’s 2-1 victory over Celtic in France in a pre-season friendly match.

The 24-year-old striker was on the books of the Hoops from the summer of 2016 until the summer of 2018 when he moved to Lyon for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £19.7 million.

Dembele is pleased to have played against Celtic, and the Glasgow giants have responded to his post.

Dembele was superb during his two seasons at Celtic, and played a key role in the Glasgow giants winning the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup in both of those years.

The Frenchman has continued to develop and progress at Lyon and has proved himself to be a regular goalscorer in France as well.

According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old scored 15 goals and provided four assists in the league in 2018-19, while in 2019-20, he scored 16 goals and provided two assists in the league.
