Mousa Dembele has left Tottenham Hotspur, and Harry Kane has paid tribute to his former teammate.
Mousa Dembele has taken to Twitter to thank the Tottenham supporters after he completed his move to China – while now former teammate Harry Kane also took to social media to pay tribute to the star.
BBC Sport have confirmed that Dembele has joined Guangzhou R&F in an £11 million deal. His exit has been on the cards for a while now with his Spurs contract expiring in the summer, but it is still a blow for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Dembele has been one of the finest midfielders in the Premier League over the decade. He spent around six and a half years with Tottenham, making over 180 Premier League appearances for the club, and playing 250 times in all competitions.
Injury perhaps played too much of a role in the latter stages of his spell with Tottenham – his final appearance for Pochettino’s men came at the start of November when he was taken off after seven minutes against Wolves – but he is going to be remembered extremely fondly by anyone who has followed the league closely in recent years.
And following the announcement that his move has now been completed, the Belgian took to social media with an emotional message for the Spurs supporters.
And at around the same time, Kane sent Dembele a message on Twitter to thank him for everything that he has done with Spurs.
