Despite Anthony Martial struggling to play regularly under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, there is no doubt that the Frenchman has a lot of potential and quality, and there is no surprise that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing him in the summer transfer window.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham, Chelsea and Bayern Munich all are interested in signing Martial from United this summer.

The publication has suggested that the 22-year-old forward wants to leave Old Trafford, but United manager Mourinho’s cryptic comments suggest that the France international cannot expect to just walk away.

Mourinho told The Daily Mail in regard to the future of Martial: “I would like to be in Los Angeles now and I am in San Jose.

“You cannot do whatever you want in life. I would love to arrive in LA, to train in LA and play all my five matches in LA, and then don’t travel, don’t change hotel and then go back to Manchester.

“I would like to play against Leicester on Sunday but I have to play on Friday, so you don’t get always in life what you want.”

Can Tottenham Hotspur sign Anthony Martial?

According to The Daily Mail, United paid Monaco a transfer fee of £36 million in the summer of 2015 for Martial.

While the Red Devils can success without the Frenchman, it is hard to see the Old Trafford outfit sell the youngster for anything less than £36m.

If Tottenham are serious about securing the services of one of the best young forwards in Europe, then it is clear that they have to pay a good transfer fee even if Martial wants to leave United.
