Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has suggested to Football London that both Kyle Walker-Peters and Jan Vertonghen may not be with him next season.
Walker-Peters has been sent out on loan by Tottenham this season, while Vertonghen has just months remaining on his contract.
The defensive pair have both struggled for game time at Spurs this term, with Mourinho favouring other options.
Walker-Peters is starting to get a taste of regular football now though, after being loaned out to Southampton.
And Mourinho claims that he wouldn’t stand in the youngster’s way if he does ask for a move.
“f his desire is to be playing every time and leaving the club in search of happiness I don’t think we’d stop him,” Mourinho said.
“He’s a player with a good value in the market but I don’t think we’d stop him doing it.”
The Portuguese boss also hinted that he hadn’t made a final decision on Vertonghen’s future with the Lilywhites.

“If he is going to be here next season is something that I don’t know, he doesn’t know and it’s something we’ll have to see after that,” Mourinho said.
“However to say, independent of everything, ‘I’m available for the extra month for the team’, shows the dimension of his character. He’s really a guy that I love to work with because of his character.”
Vertonghen could be in with a chance of starting for Tottenham this evening, when they take on Bournemouth.
Spurs need to find a central defender to start, as Eric Dier has been suspended for four matches by the FA.
