Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Antonio Conte made headlines last night.
The Inter Milan coach had a touchline spat with Lautaro Martinez after substituting the Argentine attacker during a win over Roma.
But by this afternoon, it was all forgotten about and the Tottenham-linked manager even took part in a tongue-in-cheek recreation during Inter’s training session.
All of the club’s players gathered around in a square on the training field as Romelu Lukaku played the part of announcer in a mock boxing match between Conte and Martinez.
It was the perfect way in which to defuse any tension that might have lingered from last night’s events.
In terms of conflict resolution, it was quite impressive on Conte’s part and it’s difficult to see former Spurs boss Mourinho burying the hatchet with a player so soon after such a public disagreement.
Here’s how some fans on Twitter reacted to the footage:
According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham have already contacted the newly-crowned Serie A title winner about replacing Jose Mourinho in North London.
What an appointment it could be if Daniel Levy makes it happy.
Not only is he clearly proven in Italy, having won four Scudetti, but Conte has also won the Premier League title and an FA Cup during his stint with Chelsea from 2016 until 2018.
