Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has told Sky Sports that he was very encouraging towards his players at half-time last night.
Spurs went into the break with the scoreline locked at 0-0 against West Ham United.
For large parts of the first-half Tottenham had looked off the pace, but towards the end of the first 45 minutes Mourinho’s side started to show their attacking threat.
Tottenham thought they had scored through Heung-Min Son, but his strike was ruled out by VAR, and then Lucas Moura went close.
Mourinho was pleased to see Spurs grow into the game, and he said the last five minutes of the half changed the direction of his teamtalk.
“I told the players at half time if they thought about the last five minutes of the first-half, that’s the way,” Mourinho revealed.
“In the last five minutes we create more than in the first 40. In the last five we intensify. More movement, more dynamic, we score a goal and Lucas had a big chance.

“In the second half we knew the way to do it.”
Whatever Mourinho said to his Tottenham players last night did the trick, as Spurs improved during the second period.
Eventually the Lilywhites were worthy winners, with an own goal from Thomas Soucek and a strong finish from Harry Kane providing them with the three points.
Tottenham have now moved up to seventh place in the Premier League table, six points behind the top four.
