Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has told Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, that Mauricio Pochettino deserves some credit for Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son’s form.

Kane and Son have now combined 29 times for goals during their time at Tottenham, after the England captain set up the winner against Burnley yesterday.

The duo have now become great friends, with them linking up well both on and off the field.

And while they are seemingly setting each other up for every goal at the moment, Mourinho says that they started to develop their understanding under Pochettino’s guidance.

“It is an understanding that comes from Maurcio (Pochettino’s) time,” Mourinho said. “I don’t want all the credit myself, let’s share with Mauricio.

“They play together for a long time, probably a different way because Harry is not always a nine now.

“What pleases me more about them both is that they are two top players but close friends, no jealousy, they both play for the team.

“Credit to them, two great players, two great boys.”

Kane already has eight assists for the season in just six games for Tottenham this season.

The England captain surely has a chance of breaking the Premier League record for the most goals created this term, which currently stands at 20, if he continues to forge opportunities with so much regularity.

Kane’s assist for Son last night was actually very clever, as he flicked a corner into the South Korean’s path.

Tottenham’s win has powered them up into fifth place in the Premier League standings, with their next domestic match coming against Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.
