Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has praised Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Steven Bergwijn for their work-ethic in Football London.
Tottenham have had a gruelling fixture schedule over the past week, with Mourinho’s men having to play Newcastle United, Chelsea and Maccabi Haifa in the space of just five days.
Dier, Bergwijn and Alderweireld have all had to play two full games in three days during that period.
And Mourinho claims that Tottenham’s players should never have actually had to be in the position where they were so overworked.
“What Eric Dier, Bergwijn and Toby did is not human,” Mourinho said.
“It’s proven, scientifically proven, every sport scientist person knows that what they did shouldn’t be done. To play 180 minutes in three days shouldn’t be allowed.
“These three guys did it, I know that some others played also until their limit, but we managed because we have a good squad and we have a squad with different options.

“We managed to share players in these matches and we managed to go through two knockout competitions in the Carabao and Europa League but we could have gone out. Job done. I am really happy for the job done.”
Unfortunately for Tottenham their hard work is not yet done for the week.
Spurs are set to take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, in what already looks like a huge match.
Tottenham are currently building some serious momentum, and they have got through their recent batch of fixtures unbeaten.
If they can continue that run and win at Old Trafford at the weekend it will really send out a statement and outline their top four credentials this term.
