Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho has told Football.London that he will not change Harry Kane for any other striker in the world.
Mourinho made the comments following Tottenham’s 4-1 hammering of Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
England international striker Kane scored twice and provided two assists before he was substituted in the 80th minute.
Mourinho has raved about the 27-year-old and has said that he will not change him for any other striker.
The Portuguese boss has also praised the Spurs players who did not start against Palace at the weekend.
Mourinho told Football.London when asked if Kane is the best striker in the world right now: “I don’t want to say that because I would be quite offensive for so many top strikers there are in Europe, and the world, but he’s there with the best.
“I wouldn’t change him for anybody else because he means so much for us and he’s a fantastic player.”
The Portuguese added: “We have very good attacking players and they allow me to do what I did today, for example, which was to have a Dele Alli who played really well against Fulham to leave him out and play Lucas this time.
“Sonny, Gareth, Kane and then Lamela comes and comes well. Bergwijn didn’t even come and Tanguy stayed on the bench. We are a team with a lot of talent in these area.”
Huge player for Tottenham Hotspur
Kane is one of the best strikers in the Premier League and is a regular goalscorer, and his importance in the Tottenham team cannot be undermined at all.
The 27-year-old has evolved into a number 10 this season and has played in that position during games.
According to WhoScored, the striker has scored 16 goals and provided 13 assists in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season.
Kane will be a massive player in Tottenham’s quest to finish in the Premier League top four and win the Europa League this season.
