Jose Mourinho has told Football London that Lucas Moura was one player who impressed him for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Spurs were beaten 1-0 by Everton, and they showed very little signs of encouragement throughout the contest.
In his desperation to spark Tottenham into life, Mourinho decided to take Dele Alli off at half-time and move Lucas Moura into a more central position.
And Mourinho admits that the change was made as he liked what he saw from Lucas in the opening period.
“I felt we needed more creation there,” he said. “Lucas was one of the players who for me was physically better because he was one of the guys who had a very good pre-season.
“He was one who was showing me capable to create and win duels in there so we decided to change Lucas for that position.”
Despite Mourinho’s praise, Lucas still failed to really cause too much of a problem to Everton’s defence.

Tottenham were far too slow to build up their play, and their attacks lacked any sort of cohesion.
Lucas has been a favourite of Mourinho so far, and it seems likely that he will keep his place after this recent piece of praise.
Spurs are next in action on Thursday night in the Europa League, before they take on Southampton in the Premier League.
