Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has suggested to Football London that he will keep a close eye on Serge Aurier in training, before deciding whether he can start tonight.
Aurier picked up a ‘little problem’ in Tottenham’s last game against West Bromwich Albion, and the right-back is now a doubt for tonight’s FA Cup clash with Everton.
Mourinho has not ruled the Ivorian out though, and suggests that he will keep track of how he trains before deciding whether or not to start him.
“Serge Aurier left the game [with] a little problem. Can he play tomorrow? I don’t know, I don’t think so but we have a training session later in the afternoon,” Mourinho said.
“The players didn’t arrive yet so he’s one to give a look.

Despite his reluctance to rule Aurier out, Mourinho did suggest that Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon won’t be playing.
“Gio Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon no chance,” he added. “Dele trained yesterday with the team and well. Long time away, couple of weeks no training with team and recovering.”
If Aurier is fit he will surely feature for Spurs, as he looks to be the club’s first-choice at right-back.
If he doesn’t make it back in time it will be another opportunity for Matt Doherty to impress, though.
Doherty has struggled since his summer move to Spurs, with his performances not always the most convincing.
The Irishman seems to still be adjusting to Tottenham’s system, after playing as a wing-back so often during his time at Wolves.
