Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has praised the performances of Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura against Chelsea yesterday, with his comments to BT Sport.
Tottenham were not at the races for much of their match with Chelsea, as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat.
Spurs just couldn’t hurt Thomas Tuchel’s side for large periods of the contest, but they did look slightly better in the closing stages.
With Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela on, Tottenham did start to pose a threat.
And Mourinho was impressed by the impact that the pair made from the bench.
“In the second half we were different and Lucas [Moura] and [Erik] Lamela helped to change the dynamic,” Mourinho said.
“The feeling I have is that we kept together until the end. To finish with a positive spirit helps.”

Lamela’s and Lucas’s willingness to drive at defenders actually almost created a reward for Tottenham, as they searched for an equaliser.
With Chelsea’s defence penned back, Spurs crossed the ball into the box during the final stages, and Carlos Vinicius met it well.
Unfortunately for Spurs though, the Brazilian skewed his header wide, as Mourinho’s men fell to yet another defeat.
Tottenham are now sat in eighth place in the Premier League table, with their form worryingly poor since Kane picked up an injury.
