Jose Mourinho has declared that Harry Kane was his Man of the Match after Tottenham Hotspur’s win away to Southampton today.

Spurs picked up their first Premier League win of the season with a convincing 5-2 win at St Mary’s.

Son Heung-min scored four of Tottenham’s five goals, with Kane adding another on 82 minutes to make it 5-1.

But the Lilywhites hitman – who also missed a penalty – set up all four of Son’s goals.

Kane gave an interview via Tottenham’s official Twitter account afterwards, and Mourinho interrupted proceedings to point at the Spurs star, repeatedly stating he was MOTM.

He said: “Man of the Match. For me, Man of the Match. This was a team performance. Man of the Match.”

It was indeed a stunning performance from Kane and one that illustrated that he’s so much more than a goalscorer.

The 28-year-old’s goal return has been questioned lately, with Tony Cascarino claiming earlier this month that the red-hot striker was going backwards due to his injuries.

But this display indicates that even if Kane’s midas touch in front of goal desserted him – and nobody’s saying it is – then he’s still more than capable of setting them up.
