According to 90Min, Tottenham Hotspur have offered Tanguy Ndombele in a swap deal for Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini.
Tanguy Ndombele has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons this weekend. He performed poorly against Morecombe, while his body language when he was substituted was, quite simply, unacceptable.
Inevitably, this performance and his reaction to being substituted led to rumours of a potential departure, and 90Min believe that Spurs have asked their former manager Jose Mourinho about a swap deal involving Pellegrini.
So, how likely is this exchange? Well, given that Mourinho has previously had a lot of praise for Pellegrini, it’s hard to imagine that he’ll want to part ways with the Italian.
What’s Mourinho said about Pellegrini?
The Roma boss has previously given Pellegrini a truly glowing review.
“He can do everything. If we had three Pellegrinis, all three would play at the same time, they could never be on the bench. Lorenzo is intelligent, he understands the game, he understands the coach’s ideas,” Mourinho said.

Unlikely to happen
Mourinho may be offered Ndombele for Pellegrini, but it’s hard to see the Portuguese manager accepting such a deal.
Pellegrini has genuinely been one of the best players in Italy this season – he ranks third in Serie A on WhoScored’s ratings system, while Ndombele has been in and out of the Spurs XI.
The Frenchman was decent at times for Mourinho at Spurs, but it’s hard to imagine that he’ll want to reunite with Ndombele at the expense of Pellegrini.
Of course, anything can happen in football, but we’d be very surprised if this swap deal came to fruition.
