Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Harry Kane is available for Tottenham Hotspur’s clash away to Manchester City tomorrow night.
Kane was on the sidelines for two weeks and in that time, Spurs missed their talisman.
Mourinho’s side slumped to 1-0 defeats by Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea respectively, after the player went off injured midway through the 3-1 defeat by Liverpool last month.
But the 27-year-old was back in Tottenham’s first XI last weekend as the Lilywhites beat West Brom 2-0, clocking 90 minutes.
The Portuguese coach benched him for the midweek FA Cup defeat at Everton but, asked by Football London whether he’d be available for tomrorow’s trip to Eastlands, Mourinho confirmed the good news.
He said: “Yes I believe so. He played 60 minutes and no negative feelings. Maybe just a little stiffness.”
Without Kane, Tottenham wouldn’t have had a prayer.
We’re talking about a City team that have won their last 15 games in a row across all competitions.
But with Kane up front, Spurs, who were the last side to beat Pep Guardiola’s outfit back in November, at least have a fighting chance.
They need to win as well because the North Londoners are eighth in the Premier League table and losing might result in them falling seven points behind the race for Champions League qualification.
