It’s been a pretty ordinary season for Carlos Vinicius since joining Tottenham Hotspur on loan.

Spurs signed the towering Brazilian striker from Benfica for the 2020-21 campaign but fast forward four months, he has only managed 68 minutes of Premier League football.

Prior to Harry Kane getting injured, Vinicius had only been given 23 minutes of league time under Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho.

But the big man had a decent cameo in the 1-0 defeat by Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

And Mourinho has hinted that he’ll be getting a lot more chances to impress during the second half of the campaign.

He told Football London: “He’s a good player, a good guy. We’re very happy to have him. He’s been useful and he will be even more useful for us in the second half of the season.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Mourinho gives Vinicius a full Premier League debut against Chelsea tonight.

Against the Seagulls, Mourinho started Gareth Bale in the absence of Kane, but the Wales international had a minimal contribution and perhaps it’s time for the South American to spearhead the attack.
