Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has provided good and bad news on the injury front after his side’s defeat to Chelsea last night.
Speaking to BBC Sport, the Tottenham boss confirmed that there is hope that Harry Kane will return in the near future.
However, Mourinho says that Kane is the only Tottenham player likely to return soon, with others all set to miss out.
“Hopefully next week Harry Kane will be back but not any of the others. We play Sunday against West Brom and they need points as much as us for different reasons,” he said.
The biggest frustration for Spurs fans is that Mourinho’s comments suggest that Dele Alli will not return in the near future.
Mourinho has spoken positively about Alli this week, which has raised excitement at Tottenham.
But it seems that it will be some time before the England international actually comes back into the fold.
Spurs are also without Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso currently, but it was expected that those two would be out for a while yet.
Tottenham’s next game comes against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, when they really will be under pressure to pick up the three points and return to winning ways.
