Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Japhet Tanganga will not be available to play this Sunday when Tottenham welcome Leicester to north London.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference before facing the Foxes, Football London quote Mourinho as saying: “Tanganga is out. Lamela trained, I cannot say 100% with the team but some exercises with us. Coming to the end of his injury but still not ready. Not close.”
Even if he was fit, the 21-year-old probably wouldn’t have featured anyway, judging by his lack of league action so far this term.
Tanganga is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season, and has amassed just four appearances in total across all competitions.
Three of those have come in the Europa League, while the £23,077-a-week defender also faced Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Hopefully, Mourinho can help the academy prospect get fully fit as soon as possible. Tanganga is a huge talent, and his development is suffering while he’s out injured.
Having said that, Brendan Rodgers’ men probably wouldn’t have been the best team to throw him up against anyway, given their quality in attack.

The Foxes possess an absolute nightmare for defenders in Jamie Vardy, who runs the opposition ragged from the first minute until the last.
In Harvey Barnes, James Maddison and Cengiz Under, Rodgers also possesses three young, direct and fearless talents who are in good form.
