Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has said that Mason Mount will not play against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Stamford Bridge tomorrow, as quoted in Football.London.
Tuchel has said that England international midfielder Mount, 22, has an injury he picked up against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
The Chelsea boss has added that USA international attacker Christian Pulisic will not play against defending English champions City either.
Chelsea will take on City at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League tomorrow.
Tuchel told Football.London: “Christian Pulisic is out and Mason Mount it’s too soon. He has a minor injury from the Aston Villa game. He made a big step, huge progress, but not enough.”
The Chelsea boss added about Mount: “He is very disappointed and I didn’t feel it during the match because it was the second half and he played through the injury. He finished the game, was confident to take an important penalty. So it was a surprise.
“The steps he is taking are huge, maybe it was possible if the game was one day later. So it’s a minor injury but there is disappointment for him and us because he is a player that we count on.
“But no matter the importance, no matter how we rely on him, the task is to find solutions without him and bring him back as soon as possible.”

Boost for Manchester City?
It was always likely that Pulisic was going to miss the game against City, and Mount also being out is a boost to the Citizens’ chances of picking up all three points from the encounter.
Mount is one of the best and most dynamic midfielders in the Premier League, and him not playing tomorrow will be welcomed by City.
Chelsea are playing well at the moment and will fancy their chances of winning against the Citizens.
However, City have one of the strongest teams in the Premier League, and the injury situation of Chelsea could play into their hands.
