Andriy Shevchenko says Oleksandr Zinchenko’s motivation is ‘over the charts’ for Arsenal and Ukraine.
The 2004 Ballon d’Or winner spoke highly about his fellow countryman who helped Ukraine to a 1-1 draw against England on Saturday in Poland, as he told Channel 4.
Oleksandr Zinchenko opened the scoring after his well-timed run into the box was finished at close range, before his former Manchester City teammate, Kyle Walker, cancelled out his effort before half-time.
The versatile Arsenal star outperformed his club teammates out on the pitch, with the likes of Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka having off games.
Ukraine didn’t qualify for the 2022 World Cup, but they are on the edge of possibly booking a ticket to Germany next summer for the European Championships.
If that is to happen, then their big-name players need to step up, with Shevchenko sharing his brief thoughts on Zinchenko’s mindset.

“I think Oleksandr Zinchenko, his motivation is over the charts,” said Shevchenko.

Zinchenko a key player for Arsenal
Arsenal signed Zinchenko last summer in a £32 million deal from Manchester City (Sky Sports), in the hope that he could push them over the line – it has been claimed that Tierney is better than Zinchenko.
Even though he lifted Arsenal towards a title push and that massive lead heading into the final few months of the season.
He wasn’t able to stop their collapse and that’s what is going to test the whole team when those crunch moments arrive again this season.
