Rangers are linked with Motherwell’s Jake Hastie.

News broke this week that Rangers have stepped up their efforts to sign Motherwell’s Jake Hastie.
The Herald report Rangers are hoping to close a deal to sign the 21-year-old winger, who has 11 goals and seven assists this season.
It would be a significant blow for Motherwell to lose Hastie to Ibrox, but they have responded with a big signing of their own.
Motherwell yesterday completed the signing of Inverness CT’s Liam Polworth, BBC Sport reported.
Polworth has a staggering 20 assists in all competitions this season, and three goals.
He is a different type of player to Hastie, more of a creator than a finisher, playing more centrally, than out wide.

So while not a direct replacement for the potentially Rangers bound winger, he could lessen the impact felt by his departure, and maintain ‘Well’s attacking threat.
If Motherwell were really ambitious, they would use the signing of Polworth to try and convince Hastie to stay, and play alongside him.
It might be a long shot, but they have little to lose at this point by making a late attempt, and they won’t care if it upsets Rangers.
