Micah Richards has said on Match of the Day on BBC One that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur could with a player like Manchester United attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The former Manchester City star believes that Tottenham are missing a playmaker like Eriksen who can create chances from midfield.
Richards made the comments while analysing Tottenham’s 1-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
It was a very defensive display from Antonio Conte’s side.
Eriksen is a former Tottenham player who starred for the club from 2013 until 2020 before moving to Inter Milan.
The Denmark international playmaker worked with Conte at Inter and won the Serie A title in 2020-21.
The 30-year-old joined Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and is on £150,000-a-week (Spotac) salary.

Interestingly, Eriksen was linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer transfer window following his departure from Brentford at the end of last season.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder told The Manchester Evening News in August that Tottenham wanted to sign him, but they did not make an offer.
The Dane has given two assists in seven Premier League matches and has provided one assist in three UEFA Europa League games for United so far this season.
Micah Richards on Tottenham Hotspur missing Christian Eriksen-type player
Richards said when asked what Tottenham are missing: “A bit more Eriksen-type player. With three in midfield, they are really three holders. Try to get a bit forward. When the front three are not causing much problems, you need someone in there who will create something for them.”
