Rodrigo has taken to Instagram to explain the reason behind his absence from Leeds’ defeat to Leicester on Monday night.
The Spain international’s Instagram post revealed that he had contracted Coronavirus, after coming in contact with a family member who had the virus.
Rodrigo also confirmed that he will miss the trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday as a result of his positive test, in what is a real blow to Marcelo Bielsa.
In response to the 29-year-old’s Instagram post, Kalvin Phillips wrote ‘miss you brother’ while Stuart Dallas also sent a heart emoji to the ex-Bolton forward.
Leeds’ £26 million summer signing has enjoyed a steady return to English football since swapping Valencia for Yorkshire a few months ago.

Rodrigo scored the equaliser in Leeds’ 1-1 draw against Manchester City earlier this season, while WhoScored shows that he enjoys testing opposition goalkeepers by taking 2.2 shots per game.
Against a Palace side who were recently torn apart by the directness of Wolves, the Spaniard could’ve had a fun afternoon at Selhurst Park.

However, Bielsa will have to do without his marquee signing in south London.
One silver lining, however, is the fact that there’s an international break after the trip to Crystal Palace, so Rodrigo won’t miss any other games for Leeds.
