According to a report in The Sun at the weekend, Newcastle United are interested in signing Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that the former Manchester United winger is a summer transfer target for Newcastle’s prospective new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
The report has claimed that the Magpies have already asked about the availability of the Ivory Coast international, who is valued at more than £60 million by Palace.
Newcastle fans will know all about Zaha, as the 27-year-old is one of the best players in the Premier League and is a key figure at Palace.
Andros Townsend rates his Palace teammate highly, with the former Newcastle and Tottenham winger speaking highly of him in February 2020, while predicting him to leave the Eagles for a bigger club.
Townsend told talkSPORT about Zaha on February 26, 2020: “Eventually I think he will get his big move, and nobody at Palace would begrudge him that big move because he deserves it.
“For me, Wilfried Zaha is the most talented player I’ve ever played with and he’s the most skilful player I’ve played with.
“He’s an incredible player, a world class player. But hopefully we’ve got his talent for longer than this season.”
Good signing for Newcastle United?
Zaha is a very good winger who plays well consistently, has a lot of pace, and is full of tricks.
The St. James’ Park faithful would enjoy watching Zaha, who is a very realistic transfer target for the prospective new owners of Newcastle.
