Scotland fans have offered a mixed reaction to the performance of Aston Villa’s John McGinn on Tuesday night.

Villa fans will be glad to hear that he will return back to B6 in one piece and ready for their Midlands showdown against Wolves on Saturday.

The Villa midfielder has been thriving in the colours of his country in recent times by becoming the go-to-guy for goals.

McGinn wasn’t able to get on the scoresheet last night, as the Scots recorded a late 1-0 win against the Faroe Islands in their World Cup qualifier.

Scotland supporters shared a mixed reaction in regards to what they saw from the hard-hitting Villa midfielder.

Before the game, many were expecting Steve Clarke’s in-form side to pick up all three points pretty comfortably, but life was tough from the off.

They couldn’t get their engines going on the road and were heading towards valuable dropped points.

But late on in the game, Lyndon Dykes prodded home four minutes from time to edge Scotland closer to a play-off spot.

It’s looking likely that Scotland will earn that play-off spot, which would then put them two games away from the World Cup in Qatar.

And if they are to do it then someone like McGinn, who plays a more advanced role for his country, will need to be at his best.

Here is a selection of Scotland fans reacting to McGinn’s display against the Faroe Islands:
