The Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur pair top the table.
Swansea City’s Fernando Llorente in action with Stade Rennais’ Pedro Mendes
The Premier League season is now five games old and whilst it is too early in the season to be making assumptions about who will finish where or who the stars of the show will be come the end of the campaign, it is still interesting to see how the statistics are shaping up at this early stage of the season.
So which Premier League player has committed the most fouls at this early stage of the campaign.
Swansea City fans, it is one of your men, as summer signing Fernando Llorente tops the pile.
However, it is the man in second placed that has the most alarming stats.
| Position | Team | Fouls | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fernando Llorente | FW | Swansea | 13 | 5 | 450 |
| Vincent Janssen | FW | Tottenham | 12 | 5 | 206 |
| Marko Arnautovic | FW | Stoke | 11 | 5 | 448 |
| Marouane Fellaini | MF | Man Utd | 11 | 5 | 450 |
| Callum Wilson | FW | Bournemouth | 11 | 5 | 348 |
Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen has committed just one less foul than Llorente – in nearly half the time.
Used mainly as a substitute by Spurs he has struggled to find the back of net when coming into games and, it seems, is often finding himself penalised by the referee.

He’ll need to watch for bookings, a suspension is not currently a good idea with Harry Kane injured for Tottenham.
The rest of the top five is made up of Stoke City winger Marko Arnautovic, Manchester United’s perennial fouler Marouane Fellaini and Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
Tottenham fans will be hoping Janssen can start scoring as much as he is fouling, especially with Harry Kane out of the picture.
