Giovanni van Bronckhorst has admitted Aaron Ramsey is the ‘most disappointed’ person at Rangers, but does not yet know when he will return from injury, via the Glasgow Times.

Ramsey has so far managed just four appearances for the Premiership side since moving to Ibrox in January. The Juventus loanee has since been out of action whilst recovering from a calf issue that’s kept him from facing Dundee United, Borussia Dortmund and Motherwell.

The Welshman will again be absent from the Gers’ squad when the Glasgow outfit visit St Johnstone on Wednesday night. Van Bronckhorst will be desperate for a result away to the Saints at McDiarmid Park, having now drawn their last two league fixtures in scored affairs.

Ramsey had shown glimpses of what the three-time FA Cup winner is capable of producing when fit in February. He provided an assist as Rangers beat Annan Athletic in the SFA Cup. But the tie also marks 61 of the 31-year-old’s 94-minutes for the Gers in all competitions.

Van Bronckhorst admits Ramsey is ‘disappointed’ at lack of Rangers games so far

Van Bronckhorst admits Ramsey’s lack of games for Rangers so far frustrates the Juventus loanee more than anyone at Ibrox. But the Gers boss is still none the wiser to when he will be able to field the 71-cap international. Although Ramsey has resumed training in part.

“I don’t have a clear timeline,” Van Bronckhorst said. “Hopefully, he can join the team very soon. He’s already working on the pitch again. So, hopefully, in the near future we can welcome him back in the squad.

“Of course, we wanted Aaron to be involved more than he is now. But the [person who is] most disappointed is Aaron himself. But that’s football.”

Rangers will be glad they secured favourable terms in their loan transfer with Juventus for Ramsey in January, given the midfielder’s early injury troubles at Ibrox so far. Per The Sun, the Serie A side are still paying a large percentage of the Welshman’s £400k-a-week wage.
