Slavia Prague playmaker Nicolae Stanciu has been labelled the ‘most creative footballer’ in the country amid reports linking him with Leeds United, as reported by DigiSport.

By the end of this week, a newly-promoted Leeds side should have eased the fears of a fan base concerned about the lack of new signings at Elland Road.

Spain international Rodrigo Moreno is on his way to West Yorkshire in a £25 million deal and a forward described as ‘world class’ by director of football Victor Orta could be joined by German centre-back Robin Koch.

The £20 million-rated Freiburg ace is expected to take Ben White’s place in Marcelo Bielsa’s starting XI.

It remains to be seen, however, if there is still funds left over for a new creative linchpin with the Mail in July naming Romania international Stanciu as a £7 million target.

“Nicolae Stanciu? He is the most creative player in the league. He is a model for how any footballer should play, he is a star. And his passes are brilliant,” says former Czech Republic coach Ivan Hasek, who feels the Slavia Prague ace is ready for a big-money move.

Stanciu provided 12 assists from the middle of the park as Slavia lifted the Czech league title in 2019/20.

And with 35-year-old Pablo Hernandez not getting any younger, Leeds would certainly benefit from finding a man capable of easing the creative burden on their ageing talisman.

Digi Sport adds that Stanciu’s £20,000-a-week wages make him the best paid player in Czech football.
