West Ham United are renowned for their academy, and, although the production line isn’t quite as effective as it once was, there are still some very talented players coming through the ranks at the club.

One such individual is Moses Makasi, with the midfielder edging closer to making the breakthrough into the first-team.

The 22-year-old has been a regular for West Ham at U23 level this season and made the bench for West Ham’s Premier League victory away to Stoke City last weekend as well as the subsequent Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal.

A defensive midfielder who is composed in possession, Makasi is an interesting prospect and there is a possibility that he could be sent out on loan in the January transfer window if he isn’t needed to provide first-team cover for West Ham.

Makasi is unfazed under pressure and it would be intriguing to see how he fares should Moyes give him some first-team game time during the hectic run of games that West Ham have to contend with.

With Declan Rice already part of the first-team setup, Makasi will be hoping to join him in making a sustained breakthrough in the very near future.
