West Brom’s Scottish midfielder has been out since last month with an Achilles injury.
West Bromwich Albion director of performance Mark Gillett has expressed hope that midfielder James Morrison will be back fit to feature during the club’s hectic festive schedule.
Morrison has been out since last month with an Achilles problem and was sent for a procedure in Portugal last week which was successful.
Gillett told the club’s official website: “We wanted to give it a couple of weeks to see it would settle.
“Though he made some progress we thought the time was right to get him ready for the Christmas period.
“His Achilles has been grumbling and the international break provided us with the opportunity to address the issue.”
Morrison has made four Premier League appearances for West Brom so far this season and found the net in the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion but will be determined to return to action quickly and help his side improve their form.
West Brom are currently in 16th place in the Premier League, with Tony Pulis’ side having taken just ten points from their eleven games so far.
Morrison is certainly capable of providing West Brom with an injection of creativity, with his excellent passes and tendency to go for goal from distance sure to be major assets during the festive period.
West Brom have some challenging games in December, including fixtures against Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal, so will be eager to have as many options to choose from as possible.
