Beni Baningime could feature for Everton over the remainder of the season, if Sam Allardyce gives him an opportunity.

Morgan Schneiderlin has told Everton’s official website that he wants to see Beni Baningime get more game time before the end of the season.

Baningime has impressed Schneiderlin in Everton training this season, with his willingness to learn.

And the French midfielder is eager to see Sam Allardyce give the youngster a chance in the first-team.

He said: “He is a very good footballer. You can see that he’s not scared to tackle, he’s not scared to get on the ball and he likes to play forward.

“He is learning and what I like with Beni is, every day, he asks things. He asks how he can improve and he listens to us.

“I like this type of player. Hopefully he can have a few games from now until the end of the season and progress every year.”

If Baningime does play for Everton, it may actually reduce Schneiderlin’s own chances of starting.

Schneiderlin and Baningime are competing for a spot in central midfield for Allardyce’s side.

The French midfielder, who signed for Everton for £24 million from Manchester United, has been criticised for his attitude this season from sections of the Goodison Park crowd, but his current comments show great selflessness.

Everton are in a position where they can afford to take chances on their team selection, as they look destined to finish in mid-table, regardless of results over the remainder of the season.
