Everton have been working hard during their mid-season Dubai training camp.

Toffees midfielder Morgan Scheneiderlin spoke to Everton TV about his side’s mid-season warm weather training camp in the Middle East, and described how it has presented him and the club’s other new signings with a fantastic opportunity to really integrate themselves into the squad.

The Frenchman moved to Goodison Park from Manchester United last month, for a fee believed to be in excess of £20 million, and has made an immediate impact, with his energy levels and constant drive in the middle of the park giving Ronald Koeman something that he could not call upon before his arrival.

And the 27-year-old sat down for an interview with Everton TV, highlighting how much the Blues’ trip to Dubai will benefit the squad as a whole, especially the new arrivals:

“It has been a chance to get to know everyone and that was part of the reason we went to Dubai. I have enjoyed every minute of it. Before the trip I felt good in the team but this week we have had more time to speak with each other and get to know everyone that bit better. We’ve had a few meetings and few nice things to do together and they have helped me get to know people personally. It was difficult playing in those conditions and getting sand in your eyes. But it’s part of the game to adapt to the conditions and the most important thing for us was to get some game time and a rhythm.”

The Merseyside outfit currently sit in seventh position in the Premier League table, just nine points adrift of fourth placed Arsenal, and if they can pick up where they left off before their two-week break in action, a place inside the Champions League spots might not seem to be the far-fetched dream that it was just a couple of months ago.

And with someone like Schneiderlin amongst their squad, they have every chance of doing just that.
