Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal reportedly want Morgan Sanson of Marseille in the summer transfer window.
Morgan Sanson is one of the best and most consistent midfielders in France, and there is no surprise that the Marseille midfielder has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to France Football, Premier League trio Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea all are interested in signing Sanson from Marseille in the summer transfer window.
It has also been claimed that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is ‘very fond’ of the former France Under-21 international, but perhaps the Marseille star should look at joining Arsenal instead of Tottenham or Chelsea.
Tottenham will be playing in the Champions League next season and will be challenging for the Premier League title, but the North London outfit have a pretty established starting lineup.
Sanson would find it hard to play week in and week out at Spurs, while there is uncertainty at Chelsea regarding the future of manager Antonio Conte, with The Sun recently reporting that the Blues are lining up Zinedine Zidane
Arsenal do appear the best option for Sanson – who is valued at €22.8 million (£20m) by CIES Football Observatory – at this stage of his career.
The Gunners may not be in the Champions League next season, but they have a new manager in charge, Unai Emery, who will bring his own style of football.
Emery must know quite a bit about Sanson from his time as the Paris Saint-Germain head coach, and he would be familiar with his strengths and weaknesses.
Moreover, with Jack Wilshere yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with Arsenal and the Gunners ready to sell fellow midfielder Aaron Ramsey if he does not sign a new deal, as reported by The Sun, there will be space available for Sanson in the Gunners’ midfield.
