The agent of Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson has confirmed to Foot Mercato that Tottenham Hotspur are “very” interested in his client.

France Football reported earlier this week that Tottenham were ready to move on their long-time target, who they have been scouting for the best part of eight months.

The same outlet also claimed that Arsenal were keen on the 23-year-old, who has managed 10 Ligue 1 goals for the French side since joining from Montpellier 18 months ago.

Chelsea were also rumoured to be in the mix but, speaking to Foot Mercato, his agent Michael Manuello claims that the Blues’ interest has subsided and confirmed that the North London duo are keen.

Morgan Sanson of Marseille controls the ball during the UEFA Europa League Final between Olympique de Marseille and Club Atletico de Madrid at Stade de Lyon on May 16, 2018 in Lyon, France.

He said, as translated by Get French Football: “Chelsea will not go any further, they are looking at other things… Tottenham are looking at Morgan. Very much so.

” Arsenal are looking at him also, but I don’t know what Unai Emery will want.”

According to Transfermarkt, Sanson is worth around £16.2 million but, with his contract valid for another three years, it seems very unlikely that he will leave for such a little amount, especially given the competition for his signature.

Arsenal and Tottenham are both very wealthy clubs and the French outfit will undoubtedly try and hike up the price as much as possible without scaring either Premier League side off.
