Joao Moutinho has made a huge impact at Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers since he arrived at Molineux from Ligue 1 giants Monaco.
Morgan Gibbs-White admits that he feels blessed to train alongside the masterful Joao Moutinho as he looks to follow the Portuguese veteran into Wolverhampton Wanderers’ starting XI, speaking to the club’s official website.
With 116 caps under his belt plus trophy-laden spells at Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Monaco, there are certainly worse players for Gibbs-White to learn from.
Moutinho, who played a major role as Portugal won the first international trophy in their history at Euro 2016, remains as influential as ever at the age of 32 after all.
A bonafide Rolls Royce of a midfielder, the £5 million deal that took Moutinho to Molineux last summer looks like one of the most inspired deals in Wolves’ recent history with the veteran making a huge impact on and off the pitch in the Black Country (BBC).
And Gibbs-White has been left awestruck by his evergreen team-mate.
“Learning from such talented players in the likes of Moutinho is such an amazing experience. We learn every day off them,” said the fleet-footed 19-year-old.
“Joao is frightening; just the way he is physically, the experience he brings to a game. He can come onto a pitch and control the game just by delaying or moving the ball. He’s excellent at the things he does.”
While still a teenager, Gibbs-White already shares Moutinho’s ability to carve apart an opposition back-line with a perfectly weighted through ball and he scored his first ever senior goal during August’s Europa League qualifier against FC Pyunik of Armenia.
