Sheffield Wednesday defender Morgan Fox has taken to Twitter with a message for the Owls fanbase after being declared the Hillsborough club’s Player of the Month for October.

The 26-year-old was recalled by Garry Monk to the starting XI for the 1-1 draw with Cardiff midway through the month and seized the opportunity with both hands.

He played his part in two clean sheets for Wednesday as they took on Stoke and Leeds at Hillsborough, beating the former 1-0 and securing a goalless draw against the latter.

Against Leeds, Fox made a vital goalline clearance from Jack Harrison’s effort on 80 minutes, and for his efforts this month he pipped Dominic Iorfa to top spot in the poll.

Fox picked up 35 percent of the vote, Iorfa got 31 percent, and Julian Borner was third with 15 percent (official SWFC website).

Here is what the “Chelmsford Maldini” wrote to the Owls fanbase, and what some supporters said in response:

Fox has been at Wednesday since the start of 2017 after moving from Charlton Athletic in January of that year, and has made 80 appearances for the Owls, according to Transfermarkt.
