Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Chelsea seemingly submitting a bid for Romelu Lukaku – and then having it rejected.

It seems as though Liverpool may remain fairly quiet in the transfer market this summer, but the same cannot be said for those in Chelsea colours.

Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has claimed on Twitter that Inter received an approach from the London-based club for Lukaku – offering around £85 million, plus Marcos Alonso for the hitman.

It is said that the Serie A champions have turned down that proposal as they aim to keep the former Everton man, who scored 24 goals in the league last season (transfermarkt), on their books for the forthcoming campaign.

Liverpool fans have offered their thoughts on their potential Premier League title rivals, for the 2021/22 season, going in on the Belgium forward.

Whilst Jurgen Klopp sits quietly in the corner, it seems as though both Manchester City and the European Cup winners are planning to go all-in on forward-thinking players.

The Premier League champions have seemingly submitted a £100 million offer for Jack Grealish and want to sign Harry Kane on top – you would think they didn’t win a trophy last season!

The same could be said for Thomas Tuchel after that Champions League triumph, it’s scary to think how they would have reacted had they produced the season Liverpool did last time out.

There are sections of the Anfield support who don’t think Lukaku is worth what is being put on the table for him, whilst others cannot see him returning.

Either way, the business the likes of Chelsea conduct will have an impact on those on Merseyside, who will want to win back the Premier League title.

Many are expecting, at the very least, a four-way battle for the title next season and perhaps more teams involved.

When in truth, it will all be hyped up only for one of the teams to have their flip-flops on in February and ready to lift the title.
