Arsenal fans were heartbroken to hear that Jack Wilshere has been let go by West Ham after only two years at the club.

Wilshere left Arsenal in 2018 and joined up with the East London side he supported as a kid as he tried to get his stagnating career back on track.

But during his early years at the London Stadium, his bad luck with injuries followed him across the Capital, and even though he has been fit for a number of months now, he just hasn’t been able to earn the game time.

That has resulted in both the player and West Ham mutually agreeing to terminate his contract and he is now a free agent at the age of 28.

Arsenal supporters saw that young teenager that burst onto the scene nearly 10 years ago and outplayed a Barcelona midfield consisting of the legendary duo of Xavi and Iniesta.

After watching a certain Cesc Fabregas come through and dazzle in the middle of the park under Arsene Wenger, those at the Emirates Stadium were hoping that Wilshere would follow suit.

But it wasn’t to be for the Englishmen, with injury after injury ravaging a career that was destined to be as great as Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.

Given their close affiliation with Wilshere, it is understandable that Arsenal fans are pretty sad to see the current situation their former academy product finds himself in.

A number of them discussed his recent release and whether or not Arsenal should bring him back in any capacity.
