Newcastle United take on Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers, Brentford and Rotherham United in their next five Championship matches.

We attempt to predict the results of Newcastle United’s next five Championship matches.

Sheffield Wednesday (home) – 2-1 win

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal

Wednesday will pose a tough test for Newcastle, as they are fast improving, and have eyes on a play off spot themselves.

The Magpies should feel confident that they will have enough to get past Carlos Carvalhal’s side, though.

Nottingham Forest (home) – 3-1 win

Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier

Forest do not look like they have the confidence or ability to trouble Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

Blackburn Rovers (away) – 2-0 win

Blackburn have already proven that they can trouble Newcastle, after winning on Tyneside earlier in the campaign.

Rafael Benitez’s side will be hunting for revenge here, and it would be a surprise if they didn’t get the three points.

Brentford (away) – 1-0 win

Griffin Park is never an easy place for an away team to win at, but Newcastle should have enough to overcome the challenge posed by Dean Smith’s men.

Rotherham United (home) – 4-0 win

Rotherham look doomed, and this really could be a demolition job. The Millers have been awful defensively on their travels this season, and Newcastle may well put them to the sword.
