Rangers could dip back in to the transfer market this summer.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has told the club’s official YouTube channel that he is still in the market for new signings, despite already bringing nine new faces to Ibrox this summer.

The Gers snapped up a raft of new signings, with Caixinha overseeing the signings of Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Ryan Jack, Graham Dorrans, Carlos Pena, Dalcio, Daniel Candeias, Alfredo Morelos and Eduardo Herrera.

After an embarrassing Europa League exit at the hands of Progres Niederkorn, many expecting Rangers to dip back into the transfer market for more signings – but manager Caixinha has so far refrained from doing so.

Instead, the focus has been on shipping players out of Ibrox, as the likes of Rob Kiernan, Michael O’Halloran and Martyn Waghorn have all left Rangers for moves to Southend United, St. Johnstone and Ipswich Town respectively.

Rangers’ start to the season has been a little mixed; a 2-1 win over Motherwell on the opening day of the league season was followed up with a 6-0 Scottish League Cup win over Dunfermline, but the Gers then lost 3-2 to Hibernian at Ibrox this weekend, again triggering calls for new signings.

The Gers, as reported by BBC Sport, have been pursuing Hearts winger Jamie Walker this summer, but that deal hasn’t moved forward since Rangers had two bids rejected for the contract rebel.

Now, Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has told the club’s official YouTube channel that he is still in the market for new signings, and anything could happen between now and the transfer deadline in two weeks.

Caixinha noted that everybody at the club is pulling together to get what Rangers need – and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the Gers launch another bid to land Hearts star Walker.

“Until the deadline, too many things might happen,” said Caixinha. “We are in the market, like everyone, and we hope to get in the right direction. What I can tell you is that everybody in this club knows what we need, everybody in this club knows what we want, and we are together on it,” he added.
