Aston Villa are due to take on Reading on Tuesday evening.

Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports that he believes Aston Villa will lose against Reading on Tuesday evening.

Villa have won just once so far this season, and they have appointed Steve Bruce to try and change their fortunes.

However, Bruce was unable to guide Villa to victory in his first match in charge against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And Holloway feels that things are going to get worse for Villa, before they get better.

“I thought Aston Villa had turned the corner when they came back against Newcastle but after watching them on Saturday, I’m not so sure,” Holloway said.

“I can’t see Aston Villa winning this game. Confidence is everything in life and those Villa players look like they haven’t got any.

“Reading have a clear identity and will trouble that Villa backline with their clever movement. 2-1 Reading.”

Villa were rather fortunate to escape with a point against Wolves in their most recent outing, as Walter Zenga’s side wasted plenty of chances to seal the three points.

The claret and blues are currently stuck down in 20th position in the Championship table, and they are performing well below expectations.

Reading, meanwhile, go into the fixture on the back of a 1-1 draw with Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.
