CF Monterrey are interested in signing Ramiro Funes Mori from Everton in the summer transfer window, according to Mexico.as.com.

It has been reported that the Mexican club would have to pay Premier League side Everton a transfer fee of $14 million (£10.52m) in order to secure the services of the 27-year-old central defender.

The Argentina international centre-back has been on the books of the Toffees since the summer of 2015 when he joined from River Plate for a fee reported on the Merseyside outfit’s official Twitter page to be worth £9.5m.

The 27-year-old, who earns £40,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com, has had injury issues during his time at Everton so far and has struggled to play regularly for the first team.

Departure from Everton best?

With Funes Mori having failed to make a huge impact at Everton so far, perhaps it would be best for the Argentine if he leaves the Premier League cub in the summer transfer window.

With Monterrey (reportedly) interested in the 27-year-old, it would not be a bad idea for the Argentine to make the switch to the Liga MX club.
