Leeds United manager Garry Monk has stated that there is more to come from this side as the season progresses, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The fortunes of Leeds finally seem to be turning after years of uncertainty and stress for the Yorkshire club. As we turn to Championship action following the international break, Monk’s side find themselves in the top half following a strong run of results.

Monk has guided the club to four wins in their last six league games, and with a winnable run of fixtures coming up there is reason to be confident around Elland Road for the first time in a long time.

“There’s a lot more to come, with the attitude towards the work,” Monk said, via the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“It will take time and repetitions, belief and confidence and trusting themselves even more.

“The one thing is that over the past seven games, we have shown how competitive we can be and we understand we can compete every game.

“Now the next step is to improve what we are about with our football and keep taking that step forward.”

The toughness of the Championship is something that has been evident for years now, and it is something Monk will be used to having played in the second tier with former club Swansea City.

As the season goes on momentum becomes an increasingly important trait for sides looking to get into the play-offs or avoid relegation, and whatever the expectations are for Leeds they will need to ensure they do not lose focus in what is bound to be a challenging campaign.
